LITTLE BROME & LAWYER JOHN BROME

By Trisha Cook

Lawyer John Brome had two sons and a daughter.  Little Brome was built on orders from the Earl of Warwick for his personal lawyer in 1425.  Wattle and Daub and local stone with lead gargoyles and lead windows – no double glazing as we couldn’t alter anything on the front of the house but the back was a different matter.....................why did I write this?    A combination of my love of Baddesley Clinton and its history coupled with my experience of this lovely house opposite the Castle in Warwick and my family's experience living with the house.

Bournemouth Belle

 by Nigel Watt

If we are going to travel on the Bournemouth Belle, we’d better stride out to catch our connection from Dorchester South.  I know you don’t like hurrying, but a brisk walk will build an appetite for afternoon tea, Pullman style.  And besides, it’s a beautiful summer day!
